  1. Each group member takes a week- 5 day lunch menu
    • Make sure to include all the food groups in every lunch

    • That it is the recommended calories and nutrients for your specific age group
      1. Follow the dietary guidelines for Americans or the food pyramid.

    • For everyday have the following information for each lunch meal
        1. Calories
        2. Total fat –break down the fats
        3. Protein
        4. Sodium
        5. Vitamin A

        7. Dietary Fiber
        8. Calcium
        9. Iron
        10. Carbohydrates-Simple and Complex

    • Menus must include a main dish, at least one side dish and a beverage
    • Make sure to have a variety of food choices within your individual week long lunch menus

    • Make sure the menu is something that students will buy but still get the nutrients that are need to have a healthy and complete meal.

    • When you are finish with your week menu write up a paragraph on how the changes you made to the school lunch menu will benefit the students and the school

    • When everyone is done with their week menu put it all together in a calendar format so that it looks like a real school lunch menu for a month
